Campground Overview
About Blodgett Campground
Framed by the dramatic granite cliffs of Blodgett Canyon, Blodgett Campground offers a tranquil and rugged escape for adventurers with a thirst for natural beauty, hike-in exploration, and serene seclusion. Just six miles from Hamilton, Montana, this small, first-come, first-serve campground features five designated sites, one walk-to site, and a host site, creating an intimate retreat surrounded by the Bitterroot National Forest.
The campsites are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and a vault toilet, but there is no potable water, making it ideal for those seeking simplicity and a closer connection to nature. Located beside Blodgett Creek, the campground offers direct access to outdoor activities such as hiking the Blodgett Canyon trail, rock climbing on towering canyon walls, and wildlife viewing. The Blodgett Canyon Picnic Area, just across the creek, provides additional space for day-use enjoyment.
Its proximity to Hamilton ensures that essentials like grocery stores and fuel are within a 15-minute drive, while the trailhead to Blodgett Canyon’s stunning waterfall is right at the edge of the campground, making it a perfect base for day hikes and short camping trips. This peaceful destination is a haven for nature enthusiasts who appreciate solitude, scenic vistas, and easy access to Montana's wilderness.
