Isolated within the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, Cave Mountain Lake Campground offers campers a serene forested retreat enhanced by its historic charm, a refreshing seven-acre lake, and the proximity of both hiking trails and iconic natural landmarks. The campground comprises 42 individual sites, including reservable, first-come, first-serve, and group options. Each site includes a picnic table, tent pad, lantern post, fire ring, and grill, with no RV hookups but space for vehicles up to 30 feet. On-site amenities include flush toilets, drinking water spigots, and warm showers, ensuring a comfortable stay while remaining immersed in nature. The lake is a central highlight, offering designated areas for swimming and youth-focused trout fishing, while nearby trails like the Panther Knob and Wildcat Mountain Trails promise scenic exploration for hikers.

Located a short drive from Natural Bridge State Park, the campground is ideally positioned for excursions to the park’s limestone gorge, the 215-foot-tall Natural Bridge, and Lace Falls.
