Within a short distance, the seven-acre McKamy Lake features a sandy swimming beach, fishing opportunities, and a scenic day-use area. The surrounding Chilhowee Recreation Area boasts 25 miles of well-marked hiking and biking trails, leading to highlights like Benton Falls—an easy 1.5-mile hike to a breathtaking 65-foot cascade. The drive to the site offers additional scenic overlooks ideal for photography and wildlife spotting.
Located about 10 miles east of Benton, Tennessee, this campground also places you within a 30-minute drive of renowned whitewater rafting on the Ocoee and Hiwassee Rivers.
