Campground Overview
About Coho Campground
What makes Coho Campground a standout destination is its tranquil setting along the west shore of Wynoochee Lake, where dense evergreen conifers and hardwoods create a picturesque, shaded retreat. This Olympic National Forest gem seamlessly blends access to outdoor adventure with well-equipped facilities, offering a balance of rustic charm and comfort for campers.
The campground features 46 campsites accommodating tents, RVs up to 36 feet, and trailers, as well as nine walk-in sites and two group camping areas. For a unique experience, three cozy yurts with modern amenities like heating and lighting provide an elevated camping option, ideal for less favorable weather. Each campsite is thoughtfully outfitted with a picnic table, fire pit, and access to clean restrooms with flush toilets, drinking water, and a nearby RV dump station. Boat enthusiasts will appreciate the boat ramp on Wynoochee Lake, perfect for fishing, kayaking, or paddleboarding.
Just 35 miles north of Montesano, Coho Campground offers access to vibrant recreational opportunities. The 16-mile Wynoochee Lakeshore Trail circles the lake, offering stunning views, small waterfalls, and lush forest paths ideal for hikers and mountain bikers. Nearby attractions include the Wynoochee Dam, with picnic areas and scenic vistas, and the Working Forest Nature Trail for a family-friendly interpretive walk. Whether you’re after serene lake views or adventurous trails, this destination invites both day trips and extended escapes into nature.
