Gilman Park

Set among the charming landscapes of northeastern Nebraska, Gilman Park Campground in Pierce offers a tranquil and scenic base for outdoor enthusiasts. This small, city-operated campground is distinguished by its proximity to the serene Bill Cox Memorial Lake, its beautifully maintained arboretum, and convenient amenities like electricity and water during the camping season (May to October).

With only four camper spaces, the campground provides an intimate, low-key atmosphere ideal for quiet getaways or short stopovers. Visitors can enjoy a range of nearby attractions within the park, including the 14-acre Gilman Park Arboretum, featuring over 325 plant species and a historic 1913 bridge, as well as playgrounds, picnic areas, and a swimming pool open during summer. Located just west across the parking lot from Bill Cox Memorial Lake, the campground also offers easy access to fishing opportunities for bluegill, bass, and channel catfish. For a broader exploration, the Willow Creek State Recreation Area, with its 1,600 acres of water-based recreation and an eight-mile hiking trail, is only 1.5 miles away.
