Campground Overview
About Hittle Bottom Campground
Hittle Bottom Campground offers a serene riverside retreat along the Colorado River, combining striking red rock vistas with convenient river access just 23 miles northeast of Moab. This BLM-managed site provides a quieter alternative to bustling in-town campgrounds while still offering easy access to the region's famed outdoor attractions.
The campground features 15 first-come, first-served sites and one reservable group site, all situated along the riverbank with views of Fisher Towers and the dramatic Castle Valley landscape. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, while vault toilets serve the campground. The lack of potable water and hookups creates a more rustic camping experience, appealing to those seeking a closer connection to nature.
Located off the scenic Byway 128, Hittle Bottom serves as an ideal base for exploring the nearby Fisher Towers hiking area, embarking on Colorado River rafting adventures, or venturing into Arches National Park. The campground's position strikes a balance between accessibility and seclusion, allowing campers to easily reach Moab's amenities while enjoying a tranquil natural setting away from the crowds.
