Campground Overview
About Iron Springs Group Campground
Iron Springs Group Campground stands as a testament to the rugged beauty of Utah's high country, offering an immersive alpine experience at 9,200 feet elevation. This secluded group site, nestled along the scenic Red Cloud Loop Backway, provides a rare combination of expansive meadow views and dense forest cover, creating an ideal setting for large gatherings in nature.
The campground features two spacious group sites, each accommodating up to 50 people, with a central shared area equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Surrounded by a mix of pines and aspens, campers enjoy a sense of privacy while still having access to basic amenities like vault toilets. Currently, there is no drinking water available on-site, so visitors must come prepared with their own supply.
Located approximately 25 miles north of Vernal, Utah, Iron Springs serves as an excellent base for exploring the diverse landscapes of Ashley National Forest. The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and ATV riding along the extensive trail network of the Red Cloud Loop. Within a short drive, visitors can find East Park and Oaks Park Reservoirs, both stocked with rainbow trout and offering additional recreational activities.
