Loafer Creek Recreation Area at the southern end of Lake Oroville offers campers a rich blend of serene natural beauty, expansive recreational activities, and diverse camping options. With its well-maintained campsites nestled among oak trees, direct access to trails, and proximity to the sparkling lake, this campground is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts seeking tranquility alongside adventure.

This campground features 137 campsites accommodating tents, RVs up to 40 feet, and trailers (no hookups). Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, potable water, flush toilets, and hot showers. A large boat ramp provides easy access to Lake Oroville for fishing, boating, and swimming, while miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails wind through the area, including the scenic Roy Rogers Trail. For equestrian lovers, the 15-site horse camp offers corrals, trailer parking, and horse-washing facilities. Group camping is also available, with six reserved sites equipped with BBQ pits, fire rings, and shared restrooms with showers.

Located just 15 minutes from Oroville, the campground serves as a gateway to the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area, boasting water sports, wildlife viewing, and family-friendly picnicking.
