Campground Overview
About Parry Peak Campground
A contrasting blend of serene mountain beauty and convenient access to outdoor adventure defines the character of Parry Peak Campground. Located along the rushing whitewaters of Lake Creek, this first-come, first-served campground is set amid a shady forest of aspen and lodgepole pines. Its backdrop features views of Parry Peak and a tranquil atmosphere enhanced by the sounds of the creek, making it a favorite for those seeking a peaceful mountain retreat.
This campground features 25 well-maintained campsites suited to both tents and smaller RVs or trailers (up to 30 feet). Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit with a grill, and access to vault toilets, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own. Visitors can enjoy fishing in Lake Creek, hiking trails like the nearby access to the Continental Divide Trail, or relaxing by the creek. The proximity to the Twin Lakes recreation area (10 minutes away) offers opportunities for paddleboarding, kayaking, and picturesque shoreline picnics.
Located 15 miles south of Leadville and a short drive from charming Twin Lakes Village, Parry Peak combines a peaceful forested setting with accessibility to local attractions. Nearby, visitors can explore hiking routes like Mount Elbert and Interlaken Trail, or venture to Leadville for dining and shopping along Harrison Avenue. Whether you're planning a weekend escape or a nature-focused vacation, Parry Peak Campground offers a serene base to connect with Colorado's rugged beauty.
