About Salt Springs State Park
Can you imagine camping surrounded by 300-year-old hemlock trees, the soothing sound of a rocky creek, and cascading waterfalls just steps away? At Salt Springs State Park Campground in Montrose, Pennsylvania, this tranquil, nature-immersed experience becomes a reality, offering rustic accommodations alongside stunning natural features.
This campground is designed for those seeking peace and simplicity. Its eight primitive tent sites and three camping cottages sit along the serene Silver Creek, with each site equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. While there are no utility hookups, the park provides composting toilets and access to drinking water from outdoor faucets. A large mowed field is available for group camping, and pets are welcome throughout the campground. For hikers, 15 miles of trails wind through old-growth forests and lead to highlights like the three breathtaking waterfalls in the Fall Brook Gorge, only a short trek from the parking area. The park also boasts year-round activities, including trout fishing, cross-country skiing, and wildlife observation.
Located seven miles north of Montrose, the park is a gateway to Susquehanna County's natural beauty.
