Set amidst the rolling hills and serene lakes of northern Minnesota, Savanna Portage State Park Campground stands out with its rich history, diverse landscapes, and exceptional recreational opportunities. Located next to Shumway Lake, this campground combines natural tranquility with modern conveniences, offering 61 campsites (18 with electric hookups), six backpack sites, and a canoe-in site, as well as clean showers, flush toilets, and a dumping station for RVs.

It serves as a gateway to over 26 miles of hiking trails, including the historic Savanna Portage Trail, famously used by early explorers, as well as the Continental Divide Trail, where you can witness the divide of waters flowing to the Mississippi River and Lake Superior.
