About Upper Meadows Campground
What sets Upper Meadows Campground apart is its serene riverside location alongside the South Fork of the Ogden River, offering campers direct access to refreshing waters and the tranquil sounds of flowing currents. Tucked within the lush Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest at 5,300 feet, this campground is a small yet well-equipped retreat perfect for nature-centered getaways.
The campground features nine single sites, each outfitted with picnic tables, fire rings, and cement table pads. Vault toilets are available, but visitors need to bring their own drinking water and pack out their trash. Popular activities include tubing, fishing, and leisurely swims in the nearby river, while wildlife like moose and deer often meander through the area, enhancing its wilderness charm. Located a short drive from Huntsville, Utah, the site also provides access to Causey Reservoir, just three miles away, where canoeing, fishing, and hiking await.
This compact campground is an ideal base for day trips to explore the scenic Ogden Valley and the recreational offerings of Pineview Reservoir, with its opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing. Whether enjoying a weekend escape or an extended outdoor adventure, Upper Meadows provides an authentic natural experience accentuated by its peaceful setting and recreational accessibility.
