Campground Overview
About Wolf Creek Campground
Towering at an elevation of 9,400 feet on the summit of the scenic Wolf Creek Highway, Wolf Creek Campground offers a tranquil retreat surrounded by dense pine forests interspersed with aspens and vibrant summer wildflowers. With its breathtaking mountain views, serene seclusion, and an abundance of natural features, this campground is perfect for those seeking an immersive outdoor experience in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
The campground features 12 individual sites and two group areas—one accommodating up to 60 people and the other up to 30—making it suitable for both solo escapes and larger gatherings. Visitors can enjoy the amphitheater near Site 1, which includes a cement stage, wooden benches, and a fire circle, adding a unique touch to group activities. Essential amenities include vault toilets and picnic tables, but campers should come prepared with all necessary supplies, as there is no water available on-site and the campground operates on a "pack it in, pack it out" policy.
Located just 16 miles from Woodland, Utah, this high-altitude campground is a gateway to adventure. The 3.5-mile Trail Hollow Trail starts directly within the campground, offering excellent hiking with stunning views. Additionally, the Soapstone Basin, only eight miles away, provides a haven for off-road vehicle enthusiasts, mountain bikers, and birdwatchers. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or a longer stay, Wolf Creek Campground is an ideal base for exploring this pristine mountain wilderness.
