About Zion NP South Campground
Can a campground offer both unparalleled proximity to adventure and a sense of serenity amidst a bustling national park? South Campground at Zion National Park, located a mere half-mile from the park’s south entrance and the town of Springdale, manages to strike this balance by blending accessibility with natural charm.
Set along the Virgin River under the shade of towering cottonwood trees, the campground provides 117 sites accommodating tents and RVs (without hookups), as well as a handful of group sites. Essential amenities include drinking water, a dump station, and restrooms with flush toilets, ensuring comfort while maintaining a rustic atmosphere. Though the campground lacks showers, these can be easily accessed in Springdale, just steps away. Generators are permitted during designated hours, and each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring for a classic camping experience. The Pa’rus Trail, accessible from the campground, offers a scenic, pet-friendly route ideal for biking or leisurely strolls.
South Campground serves as a gateway to Zion's iconic beauty. From here, visitors can easily board the park shuttle to explore famed trails like Angels Landing or enjoy the amenities and charm of Springdale. With its prime location and direct connections to Zion’s marvels, South Campground is perfect for weekend getaways or extended stays, offering unparalleled access to both adventure and convenience.
