Campground Overview

About Lagoon Campground

What sets Lagoon Campground apart is its location in the stunning Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, where coastal forests meet towering sand dunes and a tranquil lagoon. Just 8 miles south of Florence, this serene spot offers a unique blend of natural beauty, wetland wildlife, and convenient access to outdoor adventures.

With 39 campsites nestled among shore pine and huckleberry, the campground features both tent and RV accommodations with paved parking aprons, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, and proximity to a dump station located four miles away. The quiet atmosphere and natural privacy created by the surrounding vegetation make it an ideal retreat for nature lovers and families. However, there are no hookups or showers on-site.

The Lagoon Trail, a nature-rich loop with boardwalks, starts from the campground and offers opportunities to spot wetland wildlife like ducks, herons, and beavers. Nearby, the Waxmyrtle Trail, a 1.3-mile interpretive path, leads hikers to breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Siltcoos River estuary. Anglers can try their luck at catching trout in the lagoon or bass and steelhead in nearby Siltcoos Lake, while the expansive dunes provide endless opportunities for off-road vehicle riding, hiking, and sand exploration. The Pacific Ocean beach is also just a short walk away, adding to the campground's allure for day trips and weekend getaways.
