About Tyee Campground
What if a campground could combine serene riverside camping with immediate access to the wonders of the largest coastal dunes in North America? Tyee Campground, located just 6 miles south of Florence in Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, offers this perfect balance of tranquility and adventure.
This small campground features just 14 sites, ensuring a quiet, laid-back atmosphere amidst coastal shrubbery and an open meadow along the Siltcoos River. Every site includes conveniences like picnic tables, fire rings, and adjacent paved parking aprons. With amenities such as potable water, vault toilets, and a nearby boat ramp, it caters to both tent campers and self-contained RVs, although RV hookups are not available. The Siltcoos River's calm waters make it a hotspot for kayaking and fishing, while birdwatching is enhanced by the area’s rich wetlands teeming with shorebirds and waterfowl.
A short drive brings you to expansive beaches, the dynamic dunes of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, and recreational opportunities such as hiking, off-road vehicle riding, and wildlife viewing. The campground's proximity to Siltcoos Lake and Tahkenitch Lake also opens doors for extensive boating and angling adventures. Whether you’re planning a weekend escape or a longer retreat, Tyee Campground serves as a peaceful yet adventure-ready base to experience the best of coastal Oregon.
